Fresh off its third consecutive record-breaking quarter, a valued EDX partner has decided to begin 2018 with a bang.
On January 2nd, Arrow Electronics President and CEO Michael Long announced their intent to purchase the San Jose-based engineering firm in an effort to strengthen their portfolio of chipmaker, OEM, and electronic manufacturer products and services.
A leader and innovator in electronic component distribution, Arrow’s vast global network is comprised of over 465 locations in 90 countries. In 2017, Fortune placed them 118th on their annual list.
eInfochips is known as one of the world’s largest providers of design and managed services for Fortune 1000 companies such as Siemens, GE, Cisco, Broadcom, and more. While their expertise stretches to every phase of technology deployment, including the development of custom hardware and software, industry analysts believe that Arrow’s primary interest in eInfochips stems from their groundbreaking advancements in the Internet of Things (IoT) marketplace.
“Arrow has redefined design engineering with our industry-leading design digital platform,” says Arrow’s chief digital officer Matt Anderson. “Customers now collaborate on Arrow.com with hundreds of online-enabled engineers. Connecting eInfochips’ IoT capabilities and engineers to our design platform will substantially augment the scale of eInfochips’ services, delivered via digital tools, to Arrow’s 125,000 customers.”
In a separate statement, eInfochips CEO Pratul Schroff expressed his excitement regarding the merger and the future of his company as a fully-owned Arrow subsidiary.
“This acquisition by Arrow will allow us to leverage synergies between our engineering capabilities and digital transformation offerings with Arrow’s tremendous breadth of electronics and enterprise products and solutions, and digital operations, including in IoT,” says Schroff. “This acquisition is also a testament to our engineering execution, expertise in connected devices and connecting them to the cloud, and the trust that our clients place in us.”
As our focus moves toward a successful 2018, EDX would like to congratulate both Arrow and eInfochips on their merger, and we look forward to providing industry-leading supply chain solutions for their OEM clients for years to come.
